How to vet a supplier partner

June 30, 2026

Choosing a supplier partner is one of the highest-stakes decisions a growing brand makes. A good factory relationship compounds into consistent quality and reliable delivery; a poor one compounds into delays, rework, and reputational risk.

Before signing anything, we recommend reviewing five areas: production capacity against your actual order volumes, existing certifications (social, environmental, and quality), sample turnaround times, communication responsiveness during the quoting process, and references from other brands already in production.

None of these require a plant visit to check on paper, but every serious partnership should still include an in-person or third-party audit before the first large order ships.
